چکیده

Ontology ranking is one of the important functions of ontology search engine and plays an important role for ontology reuse. It facilitates effectively user to choose the reusable ontologies from the search results returned by ontology search engine. The current ontology ranking methods can not satisfy user because of various defects. On the basis of analyzing the existing ontology ranking methods, we think both the correlation among the ontologies and the matches between the query and ontologies should fully be considered on ranking ontologies. An ontology ranking method is proposed based on Formal Concept Analysis in this paper. The experimental results show that the proposed method is better than that of hyperlink analysis and content analysis. Ontology search engines will get benefit from our method because if can also help user to choose efficiently suitable ontologies to reuse.

An Entropy-Based Weighted Concept Lattice for Merging Multi-Source Geo-Ontologies

To deal with the complexities associated with the rapid growth in a merged concept lattice, a formal method based on an entropy-based weighted concept lattice (EWCL) is proposed as a mechanism for merging multi-source geographic ontologies (geo-ontologies). First, formal concept analysis (FCA) is used to formalize different term-based representations in relation to the geographic domain, and to...

On interestingness measures of formal concepts

Formal concepts and closed itemsets proved to be of big importance for knowledge discovery, both as a tool for concise representation of association rules and a tool for clustering and constructing domain taxonomies and ontologies. Exponential explosion makes it difficult to consider the whole concept lattice arising from data, one needs to select most useful and interesting concepts. In this p...

Aligning Ontologies through Formal Concept Analysis

Ontologies have been developed for a number of knowledge domains as diverse as clinical terminology, photo camera parts and micro-array gene expression data. However, an innate characteristic of the development of ontologies is that they are often created by independent groups of expertise, which generated the necessity of merging and aligning ontologies covering overlapping domains. Many algor...

Merging Expressive Ontologies Using Formal Concept Analysis

In this paper, we propose a solution to the problem of merging ontologies when instances associated to two source ontologies are available. The solution we propose is based on Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) and considers that ontologies are formalized in expressive Description Logics. Our approach creates a merged ontology which captures the knowledge of the two source ontologies. Contributions ...

Comparative Analysis of Ontology Ranking Algorithms

Ontologies are the backbone of knowledge representation on Semantic web. Challenges involved in building ontologies are in terms of time, efforts, skill, and domain specific knowledge. In order to minimize these challenges, one of the major advantages of ontologies is its potential of “reuse,” currently supported by various search engines like Swoogle, Ontokhoj. As the number of ontologies that...
